Selon le texte lui-même, Tulku Lekpa est né en une année Eau-Tigre (''chu khams stag lo pa'') qui doit très certainement correspondre à *1242. <ref>L'identification claire de cette date doit encore faire l'objet de recherches approfondies.</ref> Dans ''La [[Précieuse Guirlande Relatant l'Histoire du Khandro Nyingthik]]'',<ref>P. 502.</ref> il est précisé qu'il vécut jusqu'à l'âge de 78 ans et qu'il mourut au cours d'une année du Serpent (''sbrul lo'') qu'il faut probablement corriger en une année du Singe (et plus certainement une année Fer-Singe, ''lcags sprel''), correspondant à *1320.<ref>Soixante dix-huit ans après l'année 1242, l'année du Serpent la plus proche correspond à *1317.</ref><br />
